ABOUT

Jeff’s passion for cars started at a super young age! He learned the trade from his dad, Russ Johnson (aka Blue Eyes). Russ learned about auto body repair in Canada then immigrated to the United States in 1977 and opened Johnson’s Auto Body on State Street in Carlsbad, California in 1978. Johnson’s was sold in 1983 and from there, Russ owned various other shops in California before opening Carlsbad Village Auto Body in 1991 at 3191 Tyler Street. Russ and his wife, Ruth, ran Carlsbad Village Auto Body from 1991 until 2002 when they semiretired in Arizona. At that time, Jeff assumed the managerial role of daily business operations. In 2009, Jeff and his wife, Shanna, purchased the shop so Russ and Ruth could fully retire. They continued to run it as a family owned and operated a full-service shop located in the heart of downtown Carlsbad Village. In December of 2017, Jeff and Shanna sold Carlsbad Village Auto Body, Inc. to Rich Fish and now it is Fix Auto Carlsbad Village. The sale has given Jeff and Shanna the opportunity to follow their dreams and restore and beautify classic cars!
